single glazed walls

The main feature of the partition walls series "VS Glass", is the exclusive presence of glass panels with a thickness of 10, 12 or 14 mm, without a frame, juxtaposed one to another through the interposition of a number of vertical profiles, made of transparent poly-carbonate. The use of poly-carbonate profiles gives visual continuity to the wall system between the adjacent glass modules, whether they are linear or made up of a two or three-way connection. A solid wall can also be used made of chipboard melamine 28mm thick, suitably reinforced and inserted in the outer profiles, in place of the glass panels. Peripherally, the connection to the floor or wall is obtained using a profile of extruded aluminum, section 45x30mm, while to the ceiling, depending on customer request or on the situation on site, with the same profile or through an aluminum track section 60x30mm. The 60 mm track allows for a greater tolerance in the design phase and is suitable for situations on a construction site where the the floor inclination is varies particularly. All tracks are attached by means of screws and bolts of adequate size. Proper alignment of the tracks during installation is guaranteed by two rings cut into the outer tracks that allow the appropriate steel junction plugs to be inserted so giving continuity to the structure. In spaces where a suspended ceiling is planned, along the wall, a solid structure capable of self-anchoring will be prepared on site. If this is not possible, between the plasterboard and the aluminum track, a tubular reinforcement, section 80x30x2.5 will be placed; in epoxy powder coating with a high scratch resistance , its main aim is to give strength to the whole wall and prevent any transverse displacement; it is fixed to concrete floors with telescopic tubular elements, with screws and plugs of appropriate size. The leveling and adjustment of the glass panels, is made via a regulator screw, inserted inside the lower outer track; and is activated by means of a simple screwdriver which allows a 12mm adjustment. On this type of wall, you can apply sliding or hinged doors made of 10mm tempered glass or modular doors, with concealed hinges, in paneled wood, in several finishes, with a thickness of 43mm. The hinged glass doors, are hung top and bottom from a cantilevered hinge and vertically, in the vicinity of the fixed glass, applied to two uprights, especially shaped, made of extruded aluminum. The sliding doors are hung on a sliding track, made of extruded aluminum, having a section 45x37.5 60x37.5 or, depending on the upper peripheral track chosen for the project,, suitably fixed to the overhead structures (floors, reinforced ceilings, veils, etc.), inside which two rollers made of sheet metal coated with epoxy slide and to which steel bearings coated with polyamide PA6 resin are fixed. In the lower part, the door is guided by a sliding block, fixed to the floor, made of poly-oxymethylene (Delrin). The sliding glass doors are fitted with a vertical cylindrical handle, made of stainless steel with floor lock. Glass walls allow a partition to full height, floor to ceiling; they are not made of standard modules, but designed and produced from time to time, as necessary. For the realization of the "VS Glass" walls, whether they are straight or curved, a laminated glass is used with thicknesses, which according to design requirements may be: 5 + 5 mm, 6 + 6 + 6 mm or 8, with a sound insulation strength medium / theoretical of 36 dB. As far as the mechanical impact resistance is concerned, the glass used undergoes a hardening treatment that consists in heating the glass to a temperature of 500 / 700C ° and then cooling it uniformly rapidly and with jets of forced air in order to induce in the surface layers of permanent compression tension. The excellent qualities of resistance to compression acquired in this way, allow toughened glass to withstand bending four times higher than that bearable by normal glass.

In case of breakage, the fragments are always minute so therefore not very jagged; in the light of these characteristics it is considered safety glass under work safety regulations.. The thermal hardening process produces zones with different tensions in the cross section of the glass. These areas produce a birefringent effect visible under polarized light. When you look at the thermally toughened glass, tensioned areas are tinged with different shades, like leopard spots. This phenomenon is more evident in particular situations, where the angle of the light with respect to the visual field of the human eye form the Brewster angle, the state in which light becomes polarized. Today the customer expects quality. The wall system VS Glass, of which this single-glazed wall is part, has been designed by people highly experience in this field, who have left no stones unturned in order to reach optimum results. The strong points can be summarized as follows:

  • number of components used (cost reduction, ease of handling and installation)
  • Special seals so the glass can slide on them during installation but prevent it from sliding in the opposite direction to prevent it from escaping from the profiles (reduction of assembly costs)
  • Easy adjusting device for leveling and straightening the glass, even with already installed glass. (PATENT)
  • I profili orizzontali di pavimento e soffitto, essendo monocomponenti (senza copertine)si possono curvare per realizzare le pareti curve. Inoltre questi profili monocomponenti offrono la massima resistenza alle spinte orizzontali dei vetri.
  • Section sliding door for double glazed wall: the rollers are invisible.
  • Vertical upright profiles of the glass (usually in transparent poly-carbonate) on request you can have it also in polished aluminum that they can use screw connections as supports D.4 also for considerable weights (see shelves, paintings ....). The possibility to shelve a glass wall is of great use and not at all invasive from the aesthetic point of view, since it shines like glass.
  • The horizontal profiles of the floor and ceiling, being single-component (without covers) can be bent to create curved walls. In addition, these single-component profiles offer maximum resistance to the horizontal thrust of the glass.
  • Hinges: - for single-glaze: new design and high quality - for double-glaze: totally invisible.
